Which type of rhinoplasty is best ?

When it comes to deciding which type of rhinoplasty is best for you, it really depends on your unique facial structure and the specific concerns you want to address. Let me explain the different options so you can have a better idea of what might suit your needs.

If you’re looking for subtle changes—maybe you have a small hump on your nose or you want a slight adjustment to the tip—a closed rhinoplasty could be a great option. In this approach, all incisions are made inside the nostrils, so there won’t be any visible scars. The recovery time tends to be a bit shorter since it’s less invasive. However, this technique is more limited, so it’s most suitable when the reshaping needed is minimal.

For more complex cases, I typically recommend open rhinoplasty. With this method, we make a small incision across the columella (the tissue between your nostrils). This allows me to lift the skin and have better access to the nasal structures, which is necessary if we’re doing significant reshaping or correcting asymmetry. Although this involves a bit more downtime, the results are often much more transformative, and any scar left is usually very small and fades well over time.

If you’ve had previous nasal surgery and are unsatisfied with the results or experiencing breathing difficulties, we might need to consider revision rhinoplasty. This is a more complicated procedure, as we’re working with tissues that have already been altered, but it’s very effective in correcting issues from prior surgeries.

There’s also a non-surgical option, called liquid rhinoplasty, where we use fillers to reshape the nose. This might be a good option if you’re looking for minor, temporary changes like smoothing out a bump or slightly enhancing the nasal tip. However, it’s important to know that the results are not permanent and typically last between 6 to 12 months.

Ultimately, the best type of rhinoplasty will depend on what kind of results you’re hoping to achieve. During our consultation, we’ll go over all of this in more detail, and I’ll help you decide which approach will give you the best, most natural-looking outcome. My goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and confident with your decision.
